Categories of articles

The journal publishes original empirical and theoretical articles, review articles and previous scientific reports, contributing to the dissemination of research results in various aspects of physical culture and sports, namely: humanistic, spiritual and moral value of physical culture, sports, tourism and recreation and their place in modern society; psychological and pedagogical aspects of physical education, sports and tourism and local lore; medical and biological aspects of physical culture and sports; physical culture, physical education of different groups of the population; Olympic and professional sports; theoretical, methodological and organizational foundations of tourism and local lore; theoretical and methodological principles of physical recreation; problems of a healthy way of life in modern conditions.

Empirical articles should be written concisely using a scientific format (introduction, methods (including participants, tools and procedures), results, discussions, links).

Theoretical work should build on existing research literature and critically analyze selected models and / or theories, or only present empirical results if they are directly related to the theory.

The review article should critically evaluate materials that have already been published. The purpose of the review article is to analyze, evaluate and synthesize modern knowledge, not just to reproduce what is already known. Review articles should consist of the following sections: problem definition, summary of previous research, explanation of the subject, contradictions, problems and suggestions for further research.

Terms of article publication

The article submitted for publication must be relevant, novel, contain tasks (problems), description of the main results of the study obtained by the author, introduction and comply with the rules of design. Presenting the article for publication, the author (authors) thereby:

- agrees to post its full text on the Internet;

- agrees with the recommendations of the World Association of Medical Editors and COPE standards on the principles of ethics of scientific publications;

- adheres to the recommendations on the principles of academic integrity and adheres to the principles of the Committee on Ethics of Publication (COPE), namely in the text of the article there is no plagiarism and self-plagiarism. If such evidence is found, the article will be rejected and it will no longer be possible to send it to the editors..

Submission of a manuscript implies that it has not been previously published, is not pending for publication in other publications and, if accepted, will not be published elsewhere in the same form in English or any other language.

General principles for the preparation of the manuscript. Article presentation style. Citation in the text

Manuscripts should be designed in accordance with the general guidelines in the style set out in the publication:

- uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals;

- EASE (European Association of Science Editors) guidelines for authors and translators of scientific articles to be published in English.

Accurate and clear expression of opinions and research information should be the main goal of a scientific article. It is necessary to avoid indefinite terminology, not to use several statements in one sentence, to use simple sentences with active statement. You don't need to use compound sentences, conjunctions, and "and" words and phrases in one sentence. Abbreviations (except for the generally accepted ones) should be avoided, and unfamiliar words, slang, and jargon should not be used. It is necessary to minimize the use of adjectives, use direct and short sentences of up to 15-20 words, in one sentence to formulate one idea (opinion).

The editors reserve the right to make any final corrections to the manuscript to ensure consistency within the journal..

Manuscripts must meet general requirements.

Manuscripts must be met by General Reichurements.

Paragraph indent 1.25 cm (it is not allowed to create a paragraph indent due to spaces). Do not use hyphens.

Margins: left - 3 cm, right - 1.5 cm, top and bottom - 2 cm, no footers and page numbering.

Volume: 8-20 pages.

The article can include graphic materials: drawings (not more than two), tables (not more than two), etc. (except photos). Charts (preferably color), drawings, formulas, diagrams can be edited in WORD (font 10) or as separate files in .jpg format with a resolution of 300x300dpi.

Digital material is presented in a table with a serial number, right-aligned (for example: Table 1) and title (printed above the table in the middle in bold, for example: Distribution of students by level of physical activity). The text of the table is given in Times New Roman font, size 12, space 1. Table format - only in book.

Tables should accompany the manuscript. They should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscript (eg graphs). All necessary explanations and the legend of abbreviations should be specified. The data should be organized so that the relevant elements are readable.

The drawing must be a single graphic object (ie grouped).

Illustrations should also be numbered; they must have names that are specified outside the grouped graphic object (for example: Fig. 1. Dynamics of physical performance).

Graphs or charts should be presented as complete Excel files. You should not draw three-dimensional graphs unless absolutely necessary. Do not shade the background and use grids.

Formulas (with standard numbering) are executed in the Microsoft Equation editor. Captions for figures and formulas should be available for editing. Not all graphics should be scanned.

Abbreviations and symbols. Only standard abbreviations can be used. Abbreviations in the title and annotations should be avoided. The full term must be preceded by an abbreviation when it is first used in the text, if it is not a standard unit of measurement.

Direction of publication according to the journal headings:

  • theoretical and methodological bases of training athletes;
  • physical culture, physical education of different groups of the population;
  • recreation in physical culture;
  • medical and biological principles of human motor activity
  • history, philosophy, management, pedagogy and psychology in the field of physical culture and sports.

The structure of the article.

The title page should contain the following:

- title of the article (capital letters, center alignment, bold);

- names and surnames of all authors (center alignment, bold, italics);

- affiliation of authors (institution / Institution of higher education, city, country), if the authors belong to several different institutions, superscript numbers should be used to distribute the names of authors to the relevant institutions.

The abstract (in English, Ukrainian) must contain:

- structured data (1800 characters without spaces), consisting of such sections:

introduction: the rationale for the study should be clearly described, based on previous work on the topic being studied. It should end with the assertion of a specific problem to be solved or a hypothesis.

Next, indicate the purpose of the study.

Material and methods: it is necessary to list the methods used, without going into great methodological details. Sample sizes for main experiments must be included.

Results: the main results without introduction should be listed, which correspond to the solution of the research goal.

Conclusions: it is necessary to provide key points as clearly as possible. A brief, general explanation of the results and / or specific recommendations for future research may be included.

The abstract is submitted first in the language of the article. Automatic translation of the annotation is not allowed.

The structural elements of the annotation are highlighted in italics, from a new paragraph.

Width alignment, Times New Roman font, 14.

keywords: five to six keywords (no title, no phrases).

The main text of the article:

The use of undeciphered abbreviations and first-time terms is not allowed. All abbreviations must be deciphered during the first use. If there are many abbreviations, you can make a list with a transcript of each of them before the text of the article.

The text of the article should correspond to the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion), ie it is necessary to highlight such sections as the introduction; The aim of the study; research material and methods; research results; conclusions.

Introduction (statement of a scientific problem and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks, analysis of research in which the solution to this problem is initiated and on which the author relies; highlighting previously unsolved parts of the general problem revealed by this article).

The purpose of the study (the purpose should solving a problem or gaining knowledge about it. The purpose of the study focuses on its end result, the tasks formulate questions to be answered to achieve the purpose of the study. To formulate the goal it is desirable to use words to establish, discover, develop, prove, etc.).

Material and research methods. This section should be short, but sufficient to allow other scientists to replicate the study, and contain three sections (other sections may be added if necessary):

  • Indicate the number of participants, age, sports qualifications of the respondents. Note that all participants received informed consent to participate in this experiment.
  • Organization of the study. This part should be short, accurate and logical (brief information about each step of research, duration and sequence of the experiment). Indicate the devices, equipment, tests used.
  • Statistical analysis. In the subheading “Statistical analysis” the authors should explain which statistical methods were used in the analysis of the data presented in the section “Research results” and justify their application. Statistical methods should be described in detail to verify the results presented. Statistical values should be shown together with the data in the text, as well as in tables and figures. At the end of the statistical analysis, the authors should indicate the level of significance and the statistical programs used. We draw the authors' attention to the fact that a simple list of research methods used by the editors is not accepted.

The data collection protocol, procedures, test parameters, measurement methods, and equipment should be described in sufficient detail to allow other scientists to reproduce the results. References to the methods used must be provided. Little-known and significantly modified methods should be described in detail, the names of the devices used should be accompanied by information about the manufacturer (name, city and country) indicated in parentheses.

Providing information about the participants of the experiments (patients) requires their official consent. Studies of patients and volunteers require informed consent documented in the text of the manuscript. With the participation of children in experiments, you must have the written consent of their parents, as noted in this section. Reports on human experiments should indicate whether the procedure was conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on rights (experiments or institutional regional) or the 2008 Helsinki Declaration.

The editors reserve the right to request any source data from the authors at any stage in the process of review or publication, including after publication. Failure to provide the requested information may result in delayed publication or cancellation of employment.

Research results. Presentation of the main material of the study with a full justification of the obtained scientific results (research results with mandatory statistical data processing should be submitted in the form of tables, graphs, charts). The data displayed in the tables must be relevant, complete, reliable. The title of the table, the name of the graph or chart should correspond to their content. It is inadmissible to retell the data of tables and graphs in words. The results of the study must be analyzed. It is worth drawing parallels with data obtained by other domestic and foreign scientists.

Discussion. This section should contain an interpretation of the results of the study, as well as the results considered in the context of the results of other studies by scientists studying this problem. It is necessary to include in the discussion the issues arising from the conclusions, as well as to note how the research of other authors confirms the legitimacy of the study. It is necessary to allocate novelty of the received results.

Conclusions and prospects for further research. This part provides a brief formulation of research results, understanding and generalization of the topic, as well as prospects for future research. (Conclusions should be concise, specific, reasonable, consistent with the purpose of the study and follow from the main content of the work).

Gratitude. All participants who do not meet the authorship criteria should be identified, such as technical assistants, assistants, text operators or the head of department, who provide only general support. It is necessary to describe their role. Financial and other material support should be disclosed and recognized. In the case of the study at the expense of the state budget, it is necessary to indicate this.

Conflict of interest of persons directly or indirectly related to the publication of the article or the information contained in it, indicating The author (s) declares that there is no conflict of interest.

The text of the article should be followed by a brief list of sources used.

All sources from the bibliography should be cited in the text of the article, otherwise the relevant element should be removed. If the linked article has a numeric DOI (http://www.doi.org/index.html), it must be specified.

The bibliography should contain a sufficient number of current (over the last five years) sources on the research problem.

The list should include scientific articles by Ukrainian and foreign authors.

References to the authors' own works (self-citation) are allowed, but not more than 25% of the total number of sources. If the text of the article is in Ukrainian / Russian, the bibliography should consist of two parts: “Sources and literature” and “References”.

The list of references Sources and literature is a bibliographic description of the sources used in the preparation of the article, made in the original language and designed in accordance with SSTU 8302: 2015: Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules of compilation (http://lib.pu.if.ua/files/dstu - 8302 - 2015.pdf).

However, if foreign sources are used in the list, they do not need to be translated into Ukrainian / Russian.

References is a duplicate list of APA references (http: //www.apa style.org/). in English and / or using transliteration.

References for sources in Russian, Ukrainian, Polish. The names and initials of the authors are written in transliteration. The title of the work is translated into English. The title of the publication is written in transliteration (if there is no English version). At the end of the source indicates the language in which it is published (In Ukrainian).

To create bibliographic records of references for the list of “References” use the resource: International rules of citation and references in scientific papers: guidelines / authors - compilers: O.
